NEIU librarians strive to be good stewards of our financial resources. Due to an annual inflation rate of 5-7% for scholarly journal subscriptions, the Library faces a budget shortfall every year. We often have to make tough decisions about cancelling subscriptions, but we always do this using evidence-based practices, hoping to create the least negative impact on the NEIU community. Yet, through the cancellation of some lesser-used but expensive resources, for example, we have also managed to actually create access to a greater number of journals through less expensive database aggregations.
You can use WorldShare Interlibary Loan for obtaining PDF scans of articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, and other scholarly material not owned by the NEIU Library. Log into WorldShare Interlibrary Loan and make a request or request articles through a Library database. Articles will be delivered as PDF files. The Library will email your NEIU account with full instructions when your article is available, usually within 24-48 hours.
