NEIU Libraries Fall 2020 Operating Plan

COVID-19 Policies for Fall Semester 2020

How to make a library reservation

Designated areas in the Ronald Williams Library will be available to NEIU students, faculty, and staff for use beginning August 24, providing quiet study space with access to WiFi, copiers, B/W and color printers, scanners, and 33 study spaces (8 computers and 25 socially distanced study tables) on the 1st Floor of the Main Library, Monday - Friday, 10am - 4pm (advance reservation required).

“Click & Sit” to reserve a seat

We’ve removed some furniture and computers so that you can study and still maintain six feet of physical distance from others.

To request a quiet study space, please complete a Main Library Study Space Request Form to reserve a date and time. Only students currently registered for Fall 2020 classes may reserve a two-hour block for use of the library. Please note that there is a maximum limit of 33 students at a time. You’ll need to submit a separate request form for each date/time you want access to a study space, and you will receive a confirmation for each accepted request.

If you would like to request a semi-quiet study space, you may do so in the Student Union. Please complete a Student Union Study Space Request Form to reserve a date and time.

In order to keep you and our staff safe, we ask that you:

  • Wear a face mask/covering at all times
  • Observe social/physical distance of at least six feet from any other person
  • Don't move any furniture
  • Wipe down any surfaces, computers, or copiers with provided disinfectant wipes before and after use
  • Remain only on the first floor of the Ronald Williams Library
  • Eat and drink outside of the library space
  • Limit your time to two hours

Northeastern Illinois University reserves the right to ask anyone who does not abide by these terms/conditions to leave the building at any time. Thanks for doing your part to keep others safe, including the library staff and their family members.
