Introduction to Research at the NEIU Libraries

Tips for searching for and accessing books, articles, databases and more through our search tools

Search for Journals by Title

If you know the title of your journal, search it in the Everything tab to see if we have a subscription.  From this one search you can find both online and print copies of the journals.

From there, you can see if the NEIU Libraries subscribe to any databases that contain the journal by clicking on the record.

From the full record, you can search for article titles or keywords within the journal (arrow), or go to the database we subscribe to that contains the journal (boxes).

Search for Journals by Keyword

Enter your keywords into the Library Search box.

Filter your results on the left-hand side to "Journal" as the resource type.

Journal Search Tool

You can also filter to search for a specific journal by using the "Journal Search" tool. This tool can be found at the top of the library page under "...".

From the list of tools, find and click on the link that says "Journal Finder".

From here you can enter the title, keywords, or ISBN to search for a journal.  You can also search for journals by category by clicking on a category from the list on the left-hand side of the page.

Advanced Searching

On the journal record, scroll down to "Subject" to view subject headings.
