To support cost savings for students, the Affordable Course Materials Committee invites applications to attend a faculty workshop on introductory open educational resources (OER) at 1 p.m., Monday, March 11.
At this virtual workshop, faculty will learn more about different types of open educational resources and the benefits of adopting materials that are free for faculty and students to use, customize and share. We will also discuss how OERs can support equity and diversity through the development of culturally responsive learning experiences that emphasize inclusion.
Faculty who attend the two-hour workshop and write one brief review of an open educational resource for the Open Textbook Library within 30 days of the workshop date will receive a $200 stipend.
Participation for the workshop is open to instructors, adjuncts, and tenure-track faculty, and priority registration will be given to faculty who have taught, are teaching, or plan to teach general education courses in academic year 2024-2025.
Faculty who attended previous workshops and adopted OER materials saved Northeastern students $38,000 in one semester, contributing to education equity and student success at NEIU...let’s do it again!
Apply online through Friday, March 1. You will be notified if you have a spot by March 5.
