In this video, produced by community-based organization Wayuu Women's Strength, a group of women share their knowledge about international legislation regarding indigenous peoples (ILO 169 Convention) with members of their community. This in the context of an ongoing struggle to protect Wayuu territory from environmental destruction by Cerrejon, one of the largest open-pit coal mining operations in the world.

This film showcases the lives of 14 nurses who live and work in the Upper Great Plains. While their lives and stories are different, they all share a common theme--their past life experiences and American Indian heritage have made them extraordinary healers.

Native Silence is a solemn account of the legacy of forced adoption on Native American children, torn from their tribal communities and placed in foster care and boarding schools. Joyce, is a recovered drug-addict and now mental health worker, and Paulette, a mother who ‘doesn’t associate’ with the Natives in her town. Their stories reflect the struggle that they and many others faced growing up as Native American within larger non-Indian culture.

For centuries, dancing was part of virtually every aspect of Native American life. Although outlawed at times by the U.S. government and performed out of context for Wild West shows, dancing now unifies tribal nations and preserves Indian heritage. This documentary explores the dynamics of competition dancing—its artistry, origins, and meanings, as well as the clash between progress and tradition that marks the contest powwow. Filmed at Crow Fair in Montana, the program was produced by the Oneida Indian Nation and aired on broadcast television. A general history of Native American issues is included.
