As stated on the NEIU Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGS) website,  WGS is an interdisciplinary field that explores how power is distributed and used along the intersections of race, class, gender, geography, age, abilities and sexualities.

The WGS Department at NEIU offers a major in Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies, as well as a minor in WGS and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Studies. Classes with the Librarian pages were created to meet the specific research needs of different courses.
