You can search for books relevant to your topic by using the search box located at the center of the NEIU library website. Try searching for multiple keywords, one after the other, such as incarceration immigrant Latino. Place entire phrases in quotation marks: "immigrant detention centers". After clicking the Search button to get your search results, use the "Sort by" drop-down menu in the upper right to sort your results by "Relevance Only" in order to see the results most relevant to your search terms, no matter which library offers them. On the left side of the results screen, under Format, check the box next to Book to limit your results to books, ebooks, and theses/dissertations.

Human Rights First is a non-profit, nonpartisan human rights organization based in New York and Washington D.C. Focuses on the United States. Also publishes annual reports.

Human Rights Watch is one of the world’s leading independent organizations dedicated to defending and protecting human rights. A great resource that also publishes reports on human rights issues in many countries, and publishes annual world reports.

The IACHR is a principal and autonomous organ of the Organization of American States (“OAS”) whose mission is to promote and protect human rights in the American hemisphere. Based in Washington DC.
